Healthcare recruitment in Singapore

Biz Manpower recruits healthcare and allied health professionals for permanent roles with Singapore employers — nursing and nursing leadership, allied health, pharmacy, and healthcare operations and administration. We recruit registered professionals or those eligible for registration, screen against your role and setting, send a short assessed shortlist, and agree terms before we start.

What we recruit

What healthcare roles do you recruit for?

We recruit qualified healthcare professionals for permanent roles across clinical and non-clinical settings: nursing and nursing leadership; allied health such as physiotherapy, occupational therapy, radiography and pharmacy; and healthcare operations and administration. We recruit registered professionals or those eligible for registration in Singapore. Tell us the role, the setting and the specialism, and we source candidates matched to all three.
Area by area

What does each healthcare role do, and what should you look for?

Healthcare covers very different jobs, each with its own registration and setting. Below is what each area does and what’s worth screening for. The most important checks are the right registration, the right specialism, and experience in a comparable setting — we confirm all three before a candidate reaches your shortlist.

Nursing

Patient care across wards, clinics, theatres and community settings, often with a specialism (critical care, oncology, emergency, perioperative). Look for current SNB registration, the right specialism, and setting experience that matches yours — acute, community or private.

Nursing leadership

Nurse managers and senior nursing roles run teams, rosters, standards and quality. Look for a leadership track record alongside clinical credibility — someone who can hold standards and develop a team, not just manage a roster.

Allied health

Physiotherapists, occupational therapists, speech therapists, radiographers and medical technologists — assessment, therapy and diagnostics. Look for AHPC registration and the specific specialism you need; within each profession, experience varies a lot by setting and caseload.

Pharmacy

Pharmacists and pharmacy technicians across retail, hospital and clinical settings — dispensing, clinical pharmacy and medication safety. Look for Singapore Pharmacy Council registration and experience in the setting you run.

Healthcare administration & operations

Clinic and practice managers, operations managers and patient-services roles keep facilities running — scheduling, compliance, patient flow and billing. Look for healthcare-setting experience and operational rigour; the regulatory and patient-facing context makes general admin experience a poor substitute.

Medical & clinical leadership

Doctors and medical directors require Singapore Medical Council registration and are specialised searches. Tell us the discipline and seniority and we scope the search with you; these roles move differently from the rest of the function.
Registration

Do healthcare professionals need to be registered to work in Singapore?

Yes. To practise in Singapore, healthcare professionals must hold the relevant registration: nurses with the Singapore Nursing Board (SNB); allied health professionals such as physiotherapists, occupational therapists and radiographers with the Allied Health Professions Council (AHPC); pharmacists with the Singapore Pharmacy Council; and doctors with the Singapore Medical Council (SMC). We recruit professionals who hold, or are eligible for, the relevant registration — and we confirm that status before shortlisting. We do not provide registration itself.

Foreign-trained candidates

Overseas qualifications are assessed by the relevant board for recognition, and eligibility varies by country and qualification — some routes include a supervised-practice period. We check a candidate’s registration or eligibility before they reach your shortlist, so you don’t build a plan on someone who can’t yet practise.
What roles pay

What do healthcare roles pay in Singapore?

Healthcare pay is shaped heavily by public-sector salary bands, registration and seniority, so ranges are broad. The table below sets out indicative base monthly figures for common roles, compiled from published market sources and dated at our last review. Clinical roles usually carry shift allowances on top of base, and private-sector roles can sit higher than public. Treat it as a budgeting guide, not a quote — we’ll give you a realistic range for your role.

What moves pay

What affects healthcare salaries in Singapore?

Several things at once. Public-sector bands set much of the structure, and the private sector can pay somewhat higher for comparable roles. Registration, seniority and specialism matter — scarce specialisms such as critical care, oncology or theatre command more. Setting and shift patterns add allowances on top of base. And demand is high across nursing and allied health, which supports pay for experienced, registered professionals. We factor all of this into the range we give you.
Permanent or locum

Should I hire a permanent or locum/contract healthcare professional?

It depends on the need. Permanent suits roles that anchor your team and continuity of care. Locum or contract suits cover for leave, a project, or a short-term gap — common in healthcare, especially for nursing and medical cover. We focus on permanent placement; for locum or contract cover we match the candidate and an established payroll partner employs them, so you avoid the payroll liability.
How we work

How do you recruit a healthcare hire?

The same four steps, with registration built in. We brief with you to map the role, the setting, the specialism and the registration required; run a targeted search across our network and direct approaches; confirm registration or eligibility and screen candidates, then send a short, ranked shortlist; and run interviews, references and the offer with you, staying involved through notice and the first weeks. You keep the final clinical judgement.

EP & Compliance

Hiring a healthcare professional who needs an Employment Pass?

Foreign-trained healthcare professionals are often hired on an Employment Pass, which means meeting the salary floor and the COMPASS framework — and, separately, holding or obtaining the relevant professional registration to practise. If you’ve found your candidate and need the pass handled, our EP & Compliance team manages the Employment Pass application and the COMPASS pre-assessment on a fixed fee. Registration itself is handled with the relevant board; we’ll tell you how the two fit together.
Fees & terms

What does it cost to use Biz Manpower?

We agree terms in writing before any work starts. Most permanent healthcare roles run on contingency — you pay only when you hire someone we introduced; senior or confidential searches run on a retained basis. We don’t run locum or contract payroll ourselves; that cover is matched by us and employed through an established payroll partner. The full engagement terms are on our Professionals & Executives page.
Common questions

Healthcare recruitment — common questions

Yes. Nurses register with the Singapore Nursing Board, allied health professionals with the Allied Health Professions Council, pharmacists with the Singapore Pharmacy Council, and doctors with the Singapore Medical Council. We recruit registered or registration-eligible professionals and confirm status before shortlisting. We don't provide registration itself.

We focus on permanent placement. Locum and contract cover is common in healthcare — for leave, projects or short-term gaps — and for that we match the candidate and an established payroll partner employs them, so you avoid the payroll liability.

Nursing and nursing leadership; allied health such as physiotherapy, occupational therapy, radiography and medical technology; pharmacy; and healthcare operations and administration. We also scope specialised medical and clinical leadership searches. Tell us the role and setting and we match to it.

Yes, where they are eligible for Singapore registration. Overseas qualifications are assessed by the relevant board, and eligibility varies by country and qualification. We confirm a candidate's registration or eligibility before shortlisting, and a foreign hire usually also needs an Employment Pass.

Foreign-trained hires often do — an Employment Pass requires meeting the salary floor and COMPASS, separate from the professional registration needed to practise. If your candidate needs a pass, our EP & Compliance team handles the application and pre-assesses COMPASS before you file.

There's no fixed timeline — it depends on the specialism, the setting and registration checks, which can add steps for foreign-trained candidates. We give you a realistic estimate at the briefing call and a first shortlist as soon as we have suitable, registration-eligible candidates.

Often somewhat higher for comparable roles, though the public sector has structured salary bands and allowances that add up. It varies by role, specialism and setting. We give you a realistic, current range for your specific role at the briefing call.

Demand is strong across nursing and allied health, supported by an ageing population and expanding care capacity. Experienced, registered professionals and scarce specialisms are sought after. Rather than quote a figure, we give you a current read on your role and setting at the briefing call.
