DEFINITION
The foreign worker levy is a monthly fee employers pay to the Ministry of Manpower for each Work Permit and S Pass holder. It varies by sector, the worker’s skill tier and how close the firm is to its quota ceiling. By law it must not be recovered from or passed on to the worker.
