Compliance retainer — common questions
Q1: What is a work-pass compliance retainer?
It's an ongoing arrangement where we manage your work-pass compliance year-round — tracking expiries, handling renewals, rechecking COMPASS, and monitoring quota and levy — instead of you reaching out only when something is already due.
Q2: Who needs a compliance retainer?
Employers with more than a few foreign workers or pass holders, particularly where expiry dates are spread across the year or the headcount is growing. If keeping track has become its own job, a retainer takes it off your plate.
Q3: Does the retainer cover Work Permits, S Passes and Employment Passes?
Yes. It covers all three — tracking expiries, managing renewals, rechecking COMPASS for Employment Pass holders, and monitoring salary, quota and levy positions for S Pass and Work Permit holders.
Q4: Will a retainer guarantee I never have a compliance problem?
No — we can't promise that, and you should be wary of anyone who does. What a retainer does is sharply reduce the risk: nothing lapses unnoticed, renewals are handled in good time, and you're warned when the rules change.
Q5: How is the retainer priced?
A fixed retainer scaled to your headcount and how much you want us to handle, quoted upfront after an onboarding review. Statutory costs are separate. We confirm the figure before anything starts.
Q6: Can I just use one-off services instead?
Yes. If you only need an occasional renewal or application, our per-service options fit better. The retainer makes sense once tracking and renewals across several passes have become a recurring burden.
Q7: What happens during onboarding?
We review your current passes, quota and levy position, and renewal calendar, so we both start with a clear, accurate picture. From there we track what's coming and handle it as it arises.
Q8: Is Biz Manpower a licensed recruitment agency in Singapore?
Yes. Biz Manpower Pte Ltd holds Singapore Employment Agency Licence 25C3142, regulated under the Employment Agencies Act. You can verify the licence yourself on MOM's public Employment Agency directory.
